when it comes to china i've always had this love-hate relationship. am i proud to be chinese? yes. the 2008 olympics were a success, and technological innovation has allowed china to put it's first space-walker this week. am i disappointed to be chinese? yes. why is it always in china where we see baby's milk that can cause abnormal head swelling and now even death through kidney stones?
today (or officially yesterday) was 080808 and like any chinaman I celebrated the beijing olympics. i'm not especially proud of certain aspects of China, but meh...it is my motherland. and so, with 4 hours of sleep behind me, i woke up at the ungodly hour of 5am to watch the opening ceremonies! and mind you, that's ALL 4 hours...including the 2-hour parade of nations! the drumming was cool, but i found the dancing/painting portion most intriguing~ using the 4 major chinese inventions in the ceremonies was definitely thoughtful, but i still found the ceremonies lacking chinese culture...but then, im unsure of what could have been added.
15 hours past the end of the opening ceremonies, china has 1 gold medal go china go! 中國加油~
and here's another 梁靜茹 mtv (which i have neglected for a while) i preordered her concert DVD~~ yayyyyyy i am content
